Therapevo provides professional online counselling services to individuals, couples, and families across Canada and the United States. Our goal is to provide a safe, confidential, and supportive therapeutic environment to help you achieve your personal goals.
It is important to understand that counselling is a collaborative process. The outcomes of therapy are not guaranteed and depend on many factors, including your active participation and commitment. Our Services are not intended for crisis situations. If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, or are at immediate risk of harm, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
Our therapists are registered with various professional bodies across Canada. They are required to adhere to the highest professional standards and the codes of ethics of their respective registering organizations (e.g., the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), provincial colleges of social workers, psychologists, etc.). We are committed to providing competent, ethical, and professional care.
Our services are available to clients in Canada and the United States. You agree that you will accurately represent your physical location when engaging our services. The specific laws and ethical guidelines that apply to your services, particularly regarding confidentiality and its limits, may depend on the province or state in which you reside.
Your privacy is paramount. All communications between you and your therapist are held in strict confidence.
Privacy Laws: We are committed to protecting your personal health information in accordance with applicable privacy legislation. For our Canadian clients, this includes Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws. For our US clients, we operate in a manner consistent with the principles of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), though we may not be a “Covered Entity” under its specific definitions. We will not use or disclose your personal information without your consent, except as described in these Terms or as required by law.
Limits to Confidentiality: While we are dedicated to maintaining confidentiality, we are legally and ethically obligated to disclose information in specific circumstances. These include:

Consent for Minors: The legal age and requirements for a minor to consent to treatment vary by jurisdiction. We will assess a minor’s ability to consent based on the applicable laws of their province or state of residence. In cases where the minor cannot legally consent on their own, the consent of a parent or legal guardian will be required.
Our current fee schedule is available on our website. Payment is due at the time of service.
We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you provide less than the required notice or miss your appointment, you may be charged the full session fee.
Our Services are provided online. We use a secure, encrypted platform for our video sessions to protect your privacy. However, no electronic communication is 100% secure. You acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of online communication. Please use a private and secure location for your sessions and a secure internet connection. We advise against sending sensitive personal information through standard, unencrypted email.
