Bio
Maybe the same arguments keep coming back with your partner. Maybe home feels tense and you are not sure where to start, or you are trying to figure out who you are apart from all the noise. Relationships shape almost everything, and I help people build healthier ones: with a partner, with their family, and with themselves.
I came to counselling after working in construction. I had always been the person people came to talk to, so I went back to school and earned my Master of Counselling at Briercrest Seminary. I have six kids, so I know how full family life can get. In my spare time I like making things with my hands, playing games and drawing.
My Approach
You do not need the right words or a tidy story to start. With me, you can stop hiding and be honest about what is going on. My hope is that you leave each session feeling heard, and with a clearer idea of what to do next.
I am a family counsellor, which means I look at the bigger picture. Even if you come on your own, we will look at how your parents, siblings and the people closest to you have shaped how you see yourself. Together we will build practical skills so you can become the person you want to be. I draw on ideas from Narrative therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
If that sounds like what you need, schedule a free, 20-minute consultation.
