Bio

Hi, I’m Melissa. I’m a marriage and family therapist, a mom of four, and a wife of over 20 years.

Originally from the east coast of Canada, I now live on a hobby farm in rural Alberta—surrounded by animals, fresh air, and reminders of how connection, care, and repair show up in both daily life and therapy.

My passion is relationships. I help partners navigate difficult seasons and work to repair trust after betrayals, support families through transitions, and guide individuals in strengthening the one relationship they have with themselves. I have a particular heart for working with emerging adults, trauma survivors, burn survivors, and those navigating major life transitions.

Whether you’re sorting out who you are, grieving what’s been lost, or hoping for something different in your relationships—I’m here to walk alongside you.

My Approach

My work is rooted in an emotionally focused and systemic approach, meaning I help you understand not just your own emotions, but also the patterns in your key relationships. As a trauma-informed therapist, I weave together proven methods to help you explore your story and experiences with compassion, intention, and care.

Creating a safe and open space for connection is essential. I believe in making room for both the pain that needs to be felt and the healing that follows. I’m curious, empathic, and non-judgmental, and I hold deep respect for your autonomy and your story. Every therapy journey is unique, and your goals will guide our work together.

Clients often share that they feel a deep sense of genuine understanding and empathy during our sessions. They describe our work as a place where difficult emotions can be explored gently—where there’s comfort in the discomfort, and space to face the things they’ve avoided, but in a soft, encouraging way.

Whether we’re working through relational patterns, navigating identity, healing from trauma, or simply trying to feel more connected—you don’t have to do it alone. If my approach resonates with you, I invite you to schedule a free, 20-minute consultation. It’s a simple way for us to connect and decide if we’re the right fit to work together.
